7 Questions Not To Ask During A Job Interview

Asking questions is one of the most important elements of a job interview, so be careful not to ask these questions as they make the employee in charge of your assessment, selection and appointment avoid your choice or make it more difficult for you, so if you want to get the job, avoid the following questions.

1- How much will you pay me? Are there any special advantages or benefits? How many vacations are paid?

Do not mention your salary, benefits, fringe benefits or paid vacation until you have been accepted into the position and the only time it is appropriate to talk about it is when the employer comes to mention it himself and in many cases you need to have an idea of the salary range. The expected job you applied for through the formal vacancy.

Asking these questions early suggests to the employer that you think you have already got the job, which may give you the wrong impression, reducing your chances of getting the job.

2- Am I allowed to be late for work or leave early if I wish?

Asking this question, especially at the beginning of the interview phase, makes the employer believe that you will place your personal needs above the needs of the company.

Your boss often realizes the importance of work-life balance, but you shouldn’t say, “I have to leave work early to pick up my child from daycare. You need to leave early.

3- Do you conduct candidate surveys?

When you apply for a job, you must make sure that all your social media records and accounts are adequate to be reviewed by your future employer.

If you ask your boss if he or she investigates candidates, you are suggesting that you have something to hide, which will make him or her suspicious of you and reduce your chances of getting the job.

4- How big is this company? Who are your competitors?

During job interviews, never ask a question that you can find by doing a Google search. The employer expects you to know a lot of information about the company you are applying for.

So prepare yourself before the interview by researching the information available about the company, and at the interview, ask about one of their new products or congratulate them on their recent awards, it will impress them.

5- When do employees usually receive promotions?

Asking this question will make you seem rude and will reduce your chances of being hired, and if this information is important for you to know whether or not employees are able to progress in this company, try asking the employer the following question: “How do you measure the success of your employees? The answer will give you an appropriate reference for the promotion system in the company and its timing.

6- Can I have my own office?

Although the workspace may be an important part of your job, it is not fair to ask this question at the interview stage, so asking this question may give the impression that having your own office is a major factor in your job search requirements, which shows that your priorities are illogical.

7- Nothing

Not asking questions at all is one of the worst interview behaviors you can adopt because it seems that you are not interested or excited about either the job or the company.
