Creative People See A World Differently

If you’re the kind of person who loves adventure, you could literally see the world differently. People who are open to new experiences can process information in all kinds of different and unique ways, using different ideas. This explains why you tend to be particularly creative.

Being open to new experiences is one of the 5 adjectives most often used to describe personality. It is characterized by curiosity, creativity and interest in exploring new things. And extroverted people do tasks designed to test their ability to come up with creative ideas very well. Imagine new uses for everyday objects such as bricks, cups and table tennis balls.

There is evidence that more outgoing people also have a better visual awareness. For example, when you focus on vowels on the screen, you’ll probably notice a gray square appearing elsewhere on the screen.

Researcher Anna Antinori at the University of Melbourne in Australia is working on a study to find clues that tell us more about creatively flying brains, as they can see more and more possibilities as their information flows through flexible portals that process information with greater awareness.

Mixed Cognition:

Antinori and her team asked 123 university students to complete the two-eye contest, where they simultaneously saw a red image in one eye and a green image with the other eye for two minutes.

Usually the brain can only see one image at a time, and most participants reported seeing only one image, red or green, but some participants saw two images that were a mixture of red and green and this is called mixed perception.

It turns out that the more open and creative people are, the more likely they are to have mixed cognition.

On the contrary, other traits such as extroversion, nervousness and awareness do not enter into their mixed perception.

Expansion of the mind:

It can be explained that people with a high degree of openness are more inclined to be creative and innovative, and Antinori says that when they come up with new uses for things like bricks, it may be because they perceive the world differently.

And Niko Telopoulos of the University of Sydney in Australia noted that the results also point to reasons why more open-minded people are susceptible to paranoia and delusions. Or other references.

The team also found that certain forms of meditation can increase the visualization of mixed images in the microscope competition.

The team is currently developing research to determine whether neurological processes are involved in mixed cognition, creative thinking and changes in visual perception induced by psilocybin and meditation.
